1965 - 66 - School Dance Band in performance
For the very first time in USS, a school dance band directed by Mr. Allison was created. Practices were held each Monday evening at 7 p.m.
The members of the band were: Rhythm section - Walt Taylor, piano; George Howroyd, guitar; Harold Bunker, drums. Reed instruments were played by Sandy Taylor, Tenor sax; Ken Rattray, alto sax; Gord Whitney and John Meek, clarinets. Other instruments included trumpets played by Jim Duncan and Derek Belfry, and the trombone played by Dave Taylor.
The group played at a Tea Dance in February and at the Art and Music Night in April at USS.
